Top Coach F is a small, independent index of hotels in four categories: art, capsule, casino and ice. It is edited by a single team and has no owner in the hotel trade.

The idea is simple. Some hotels are chosen for the room. Others are chosen for what surrounds the room: a collection on the walls, a berth-and-bath routine, a resort with a gaming floor, a building that melts every spring. This site covers the second kind.

How entries are written

Each hotel gets a few short paragraphs. They say where it is, what shapes a stay and who it tends to suit. We keep to facts the properties themselves publish or that have been on the public record for years.

We don't score hotels, quote rates or pass judgement on service. Those things change quickly and depend on the guest.

What the site is not

It is not a booking service or a travel agent. Nothing is sold here, and no hotel pays to appear or to be described in a particular way.
